THE ILLUMINATI AND ILLUMINATION
Barry Seabourne - Saturday 4 February
(Lees Theatre, Bournemouth University)

The concept of ‘Illumination’ refers to a certain kind of enlightenment that recently has become associated with fiction and conspiracy theories. Dan Brown created the ‘Illuminati’ as an infamous secret group intent on revenge against the Catholic Church. The 1975 science fiction novel ‘Illuminatus’ started the conspiracy theory that there is a sinister powerful group intent on world domination.

In truth the term illumination goes back thousands of years. It is associated with the ultimate spiritual search of many major world religions and esoteric groups. Barry Seabourne examines the history, myth and reality that lay behind what may be one of the more vital cosmic journeys available to humanity.

The Nature of the True Path
Colin Price - Saturday March 17th

One of the most frequently used analogies for progressing in the spiritual life is that of travelling along a path .In time one comes to a recognise that the journey is a path of self discovery at two levels concurrently. At the level of the personality and our everyday consciousness and at the higher spiritual level and of our individuality which reincarnates life after life and progresses eventually to the goal of realization of our Selves within the all-embracing absolute Truth".

UFos and the Transformation of the World
Gerard Aartsen - Saturday 12 May

"In his talk, Gerard Aartsen will discuss the compelling parallels that he found between the teachings of the Space Visitors through Adamski, and those of our Elder Brothers – the Men of Wisdom with whom Adamski studied as a teenager in preparation for his mission to inform humanity of our spiritual nature, our interplanetary brotherhood and the need to take responsibility for our home, planet Earth.

In discussing his research Gerard Aartsen reframes the discussion about the relevance of Adamski’s mission in preparation for a complete restructuring of our world and shows the connection that exists between the ancient teachings, the coming of the UFOs and the collapse of our present economic and political systems. WHO AM I?
Derek Thorne – Saturday 7 July
(Bournemouth University, Shelley Theatre)

I know who I am do you? I know I am not these things called thoughts, feelings, sensations and perceptions. I know I am not my memories, nor my history, nor the actions and achievements that fill this life. These things are marvellous in their scope and grandeur yet they pass, constantly arising and falling. In what do they rise and fall? What is it that endures throughout? The answer to that is known. The Jnana Yoga of Sri Ramana Maharshi declares this wisdom in a simple clarity that can be conveyed and transferred. This will be freely shared with those that sincerely seek it out.
